Great New Resource for Writers: KidLit411

http://www.kidlit411.com/p/about.html

I'm sneaking in a post about KidLit 411, partly because they're having excellent giveaways, like a bypass-slush-pile submission to Lori Kilkelly of Rodeen Literary (and I get an extra entry for blogging about them), but also because it's a great resource I should have blogged about earlier.

The nutshell version: KidLit 411 is run by Elaine Kiely Kearns and Sylvia Liu with help from lots of other writers as well. It really is the one-stop shop it claims to be. They have resources for every genre of kid lit, a manuscript swap option through their Facebook group, and this week they are running some fabulous articles with incredible giveaways.

Weekend Links: Writer Resources

I signed up for 12x12 and Start the Year off Write. I've seen some great resources flying across the Facebook book groups. Here's a few of them:

A relatively new website that has a massive inventory of children's publishing topics. It's like a Costco for writers: http://www.kidlit411.com

Katie Davis (see video link above) has a YouTube channel with videos on various topics of kid lit, especially how to market yourself and build your *buzzword* platform: http://www.youtube.com/user/BrainBurpsAboutBooks

And finally, if you're meter challenged like me, here's Rhyme Weaver's link, a nuts and bolts resource for writing in verse: http://www.writingrhymeandmeter.com.

Have a fantastic weekend!
